★★★★★ “Kate’s provided invaluable information for issues I’ve been struggling with for years that other teachers could not articulate the solution to.” — Simran, Pro Voice Analysis Client

The real problem

You’ve been working on your voice. You still feel stuck.

I watch vocal tips every day but I still can’t tell what’s wrong with my singing.
What singers write to me — almost word for word, most weeks
  • My voice cracks every time I try to go higher, and I don’t know why.
  • I’ve taken lessons before, but nothing seems to stick.
  • I feel like I should be further along by now. I practice constantly.
  • There’s so much conflicting advice online. I don’t know who to trust.
  • I sound fine on some days and terrible on others. I have no consistency.

These are not signs that you lack talent.

They are signs that no one has listened carefully enough to your voice, identified the real issue, and shown you exactly what to do about it.

That listening has a name: a diagnosis of what your voice is actually doing, and the order to fix it in. See the two ways to get one

I had so many challenges until I did the analysis. Kate showed me the how and the why in the first video she did, and in the second, she showed me how to make the small changes I needed. I can move up from my chest voice to my head voice — the instruction I received was never explained the way Kate explained it.

The level of detail was beyond anything I expected. Rather than giving generic feedback, she took the time to thoroughly analyse my voice, explaining exactly what I was doing well, where I was creating tension, and what practical exercises would help me improve. For the first time, I feel like I have a clear direction instead of just guessing what I should be working on.

I thought I could carry a tune but suddenly found myself going sharp. I learned that I didn’t have as much a problem with pitch as I did with tightness. My hesitation to go to the mic to record my demos has diminished, and I use significantly less tune correction in Pro Tools.

I had tension in my voice that made it very tired when singing, and even talking for long periods. She’s provided invaluable information for issues I’ve been struggling with for years that other teachers could not articulate the solution to. I feel supported after receiving the videos as well.

I was struggling with passing the passaggio, pitch and vocal strain. Kate showed me how many of my issues have to do with my breathing technique, and many things overall have improved with personalized exercises. Singing is so personal, and Kate has her way of making you feel seen.

Kate takes a good amount of time reviewing your vocals. The Pro Voice Analysis was very in-depth and thorough. I was considering whether it was worthwhile and found it to be a great value for the guidance and support you get.

Range, breathing, vowels. I’m making progress in just a few days. I chose Kate for three reasons: I was very impressed with her professionalism, the amount of content she provides on YouTube showed me a real desire to help people, and she obviously knows the material. I can’t stress the first one enough!

I struggled with pitch, tone, vowel pronunciation — pretty much everything. Through Kate’s teachings I have a better understanding of pitch, tone and placement. She makes you feel at ease and brings a ton of knowledge to help find your authentic voice.

Meet Kate

I rebuilt my own voice. Now I help singers rebuild theirs.

I don’t coach from abstract theory. I coach from the experience of rebuilding a voice from the inside out.

I trained my own voice from the age of four, in pop and then classical, completed the Royal Conservatory of Music, and studied opera at Marianopolis College in Montreal. My McGill university vocal coach told me I needed to deconstruct and reconstruct my entire technique. That process took years — and it became the foundation of everything I teach today.

I deeply tune into singers with the same trained ear that was once focused on my own voice.

My approach

Singing is a trainable coordination system.

Your voice is not a mystery.

It is a precise instrument that relies on the coordination of your ear, brain, breath, resonance, and muscular system. When something sounds off, there is always a reason — and that reason can be identified, understood, and fixed.

01

Diagnosis before drills

You do not need more random exercises. You need someone who can hear exactly what is happening in your voice and tell you where to focus. That is where real progress begins.

02

Precision over volume

Practicing more is not the answer if you are practicing the wrong things. I identify the specific coordination issue — pitch instability, tension, register transitions, vowel shaping — and give you targeted work that moves the needle.

03

Technique creates freedom

Technique and emotion are not enemies. In the learning phase, you may temporarily feel more technical — that is normal and necessary. The goal is to build coordination so solid that real expression flows through without effort.

04

Drills train. Songs integrate.

Warmups and exercises build focused skill. Songs are where those skills become music. I teach both — the technical work and the artistic reintegration — so that what you learn in exercises actually shows up when you sing.

This is for the singer who’s done guessing and ready for clarity.

Self-taught singers overwhelmed by conflicting advice who need one clear, trusted voice.

Intermediate singers who are plateauing and feel stuck despite consistent practice.

Singers dealing with specific frustrations: pitch issues, tension, cracks, passaggio problems, inconsistency.

Thoughtful, serious singers who want high-quality, personalized feedback — not motivational fluff.

You do not need to be advanced.

You just need to be done guessing and ready for someone who actually listens.

What happens if you keep guessing

Another year of going around the notes you’ve been avoiding.

Six months on the tutorial treadmill. Another stretch of practising the wrong things, half-believing you’re improving and half-suspecting you’re not. The voice doesn’t get harder to fix — it just stays stuck longer than it needs to.

Most singers I work with tell me they wish they’d sent me a recording a year earlier. Not because the voice was getting worse. Because the guessing was.

What changes when a trained ear listens

Real shifts, from real Pro Voice Analysis clients.

Before

“Years of neglected breath support — working on high notes the hard way.”

After

Focused, deliberate breath that holds the top of the range — with exercises that target the actual gap.

Before

“Tension that tires the voice in twenty minutes — even when talking.”

After

Years-old issues finally articulated — with personalized exercises that release the holding pattern.

Before

“Stuck at the passaggio — pitch wobbling, strain rising.”

After

The break becomes a bridge — with breath-work and resonance shifts that take the strain out.

Before

“Practising the wrong things alone — reinforcing the issue.”

After

A clear priority list and specific exercises built around your voice — not generic technique drills.

Common questions

Before you decide.

Can’t find your answer? Reach out directly and I’ll get back to you.

You do not need to be advanced. My work is for singers at any level who are serious about understanding their voice and improving with precision. Whether you are self-taught or have years of training, if you want clear, expert feedback rather than generic tips, this is for you.The only requirement is a willingness to do the work.
If you want ongoing, structured support with live feedback and a long-term coaching relationship, 1:1 is the best fit. If you want expert feedback on your own schedule, a Pro Voice Analysis is ideal — either as a one-time clarity session or as an occasional check-in when your voice has moved on.

Most of my 1:1 students started with an analysis. Some use it as a one-off, some come back to it every few months, and some move into weekly coaching once they know what they are working on.There is no wrong door — each path works on its own or in combination.
You submit a recording of your singing. I provide a detailed video analysis and extensive written notes — what I hear technically, what is working, what needs attention, and a clear set of priorities you can refer back to as you practice.

Many singers use it as their starting point and move into 1:1 coaching when they want to work week to week.It works as both a starting point and an ongoing tool.
This is one of the most common fears singers have, and I understand it completely. In the early stages of learning a new coordination, you may temporarily feel more focused on the technical side — that is completely normal.

It is like learning to drive: at first, you are very conscious of every action. Over time, it becomes automatic. The entire point of solid technique is to create the kind of freedom and consistency that allows genuine emotion and artistry to come through — more fully, not less.
That is exactly the situation the Pro Voice Analysis was built for. You do not need to diagnose yourself before reaching out.

Send me a recording, and I will tell you what I hear, what matters most, and where to start.Clarity is the first step, and that is what I provide.
Many singers have had lessons that were well-intentioned but lacked diagnostic precision. If your teacher could not identify the specific coordination issue causing a problem, the exercises they gave you may not have been the right ones.

My approach starts with careful listening and accurate diagnosis. I do not guess. I hear what is happening, explain it clearly, and give you work that targets the actual issue. That is the difference.

You’ve put in the work.
Now get the right guidance.
