1:1 Vocal Coaching with Kate Wand

You’ve been putting in the work. Something’s still not clicking.

You’re not a lazy singer. You practice, you watch the videos, and when you actually perform the tension is still there and the break still happens. The confidence still isn’t there.

The problem is guidance, not discipline. Private coaching with Kate gives you something a video or an app can’t: a classically trained ear on your voice every week, and a plan built around what your voice needs.

Four sessions a month at $135 each, what most students choose. Or $150 a session, billed weekly.

All prices in USD.

Weekly 1:1 coaching starts with a Pro Voice Analysis Plus ($457). You send a recording. I listen to it phrase by phrase and send you two videos: one on exactly what I hear and what’s holding you back, and a second one with exercises built for your voice, along with written notes, a private channel with me, and access to the Vocal Lounge, my community of singers. Then we meet for two live 1-hour sessions on FarPlay and work the plan together. By the time weekly coaching begins I already know your voice and you already know how I teach, so we don’t spend the first month getting to know each other. I choose my weekly students from my Analysis Plus clients.

Why you’re stuck

You can’t fix what you can’t precisely identify.

Generic vocal advice is everywhere, and most of it is technically correct for someone. It wasn’t written for your coordination patterns, your tension habits, or the register break that only shows up in your second passaggio. You’ve been applying general principles to a specific problem, and that gap is why you’re plateauing.

What’s working against you is the absence of accurate feedback, not your voice. You practice what feels right, but feeling right and being right are not the same thing. Without a trained ear to tell the difference, effort compounds the pattern instead of breaking it: you get more efficient at the wrong coordination, and the breakthrough keeps not coming.

The external problem

Your voice breaks, notes vanish, and tension builds exactly when you need to sound your best. You know something is wrong, but you can’t name it precisely enough to fix it.

The internal problem

You feel embarrassed, and you start to wonder whether you’re a real singer at all. You practice more because you don’t know what else to do, and the self-doubt grows alongside the effort.

The deeper truth

You’ve been putting in the work. You deserve someone who can hear what’s holding you back and give you a real path forward instead of another generic tip.

Singers who stopped guessing and heard the difference

Making progress in just a few days. I was very impressed with your professionalism. The amount of content you provide on YouTube showed me a real desire to help people. You obviously know the material.

I had so many challenges until I did the analysis. Kate showed me the how and the why in the first video she did, and in the second, she showed me how to make the small changes I needed. I can move up from my chest voice to my head voice. The instruction I received on how to do this was never explained the way Kate explained it.

A simple plan

Three steps from where you are to the voice you’ve been working toward.

01

You start with an Analysis Plus

Send me a recording and tell me what you’ve been struggling with. I listen to every phrase and send back two videos: one on exactly what I hear and what’s holding you back, and a second one with exercises built for your voice. Then we meet for two live sessions on FarPlay and work the plan together.

02

Then weekly coaching, if it’s the right fit

I select my weekly students from my Analysis Plus clients, so by now neither of us is starting from zero. Each session on FarPlay gives me a live picture of your voice: tone, resonance, breath, and the coordination underneath the symptoms. I prepare from your recordings beforehand, so you never walk into a generic lesson.

03

You keep moving between sessions

The work doesn’t stop when the call ends. You get detailed notes, exercises recorded for your voice, and your own private channel with Kate, where you can send recordings and ask questions between sessions.

Minimum commitment: 3 months. Real technique changes take time, typically 8 to 12 weeks before the new coordination becomes automatic. This is for singers who want lasting change rather than a quick tip.

What you get

Everything you need to make real, lasting progress.

Most online vocal lessons end when the call does. This one doesn’t. Kate prepares before your sessions, follows up after them, and is in your corner all week between them, not just for the hour you booked.

Everything inside your coaching relationship
  • 4 live private sessions per month (60 min each) Weekly sessions on FarPlay, ultra-low-latency audio that lets Kate hear your actual tone, resonance, and breath in real time instead of through a compressed Zoom call. It is the closest thing to being in the same room.
  • Kate prepares for every single session You send recordings before each lesson. I listen, identify what needs work, and build that week’s session around your voice, so you never walk into a generic lesson.
  • Detailed lesson notes & full session recording After every session you receive my written notes: what you worked on, what to focus on in practice, and guidance to carry you through the week. You also get the full recording so you can revisit everything.
  • Custom exercises recorded for your voice Warm-ups and technical drills built around the coordination issues Kate identifies in your voice, aimed at your specific patterns rather than pulled from a generic library.
  • Repertoire coaching on the music you’re actually singing You don’t practice technique in a vacuum. Kate applies breath, resonance, registration and expression directly to your real songs, so technique becomes music.
  • Your own private channel, and Kate answers Between sessions you can send recordings, ask questions, and share breakthroughs. Kate responds with feedback, voice notes, and guidance, so your progress doesn’t pause between calls. This is what makes it a relationship rather than a booking.
  • Kate’s private coaching community & first access Join the Coaching Studio: serious singers working on their craft, with Kate in the room. Coaching students see new exercises, videos, and other content before anyone else.
  • A structured long-term development plan that evolves with you I build your program around where you are and where you’re going, with clear milestones, progress tracked over months, and a plan that adjusts as your voice changes. You always know what you’re working toward and why.

1:1 coaching starts with an Analysis Plus.

This is the door. You send a recording, and I deliver two videos: one on exactly what I hear and what’s holding you back, and a second one with exercises tailored to your voice. Analysis Plus adds two live 1:1 sessions on top, so you work the plan with me in real time rather than on your own.

Starting here instead of with an application means that by your first weekly session I already know your voice and your challenges, and you already know how I teach and what we’re working on. We don’t spend the first weeks getting acquainted. Nearly all of my current 1:1 students came in this way.

I select my weekly 1:1 students from my Analysis Plus clients. The two live sessions are yours either way. Ongoing weekly coaching beyond them depends on fit, on your commitment, and on whether a weekly slot is open.

What happens without expert guidance

Without a trained ear on your voice, the plateau becomes the ceiling.

Singers who keep practicing without guidance get more stuck, not less. You practice the wrong thing more efficiently and reinforce the tension instead of releasing it. Months pass and the voice sounds almost the same, because you’ve been solving the surface problem instead of the root one.

The performance you’re preparing for, the recording you keep putting off, the freedom you know is in your voice but can’t reach: they stay out of reach, and talent isn’t the reason. You’ve never had someone who could hear what you’re actually doing and tell you the truth.

Start with an Analysis Plus
Investment

This is what it costs to stop guessing and start knowing.

You’re not paying for an hour a week. You’re paying for someone who knows your voice: live sessions, lesson prep, notes, recordings, exercises, support between sessions, and a community of serious singers. I work with a limited number of students so each one gets the attention that produces results.

Who this is for

If you’ve outgrown generic advice, if you know your voice has more in it and you’re ready to do the work to find it, this is built for you. Spots are limited and go to singers who show up consistently and practice between sessions. Commitment is the only prerequisite. Level is not.

I work with singers at every level, from self-taught beginners to conservatory-trained vocalists. What matters more than your current level is your commitment to consistent work. If you are willing to show up every week and put in the practice, we can make progress together. The Analysis Plus is how I get to know your voice, and how we both find out whether weekly coaching is the right fit.
FarPlay is ultra-low-latency audio software designed for live music collaboration over the internet. Unlike Zoom or Skype, it lets me hear your voice in near real time with full tonal clarity. This means I can work on tone, resonance, and subtle technical adjustments the way I would in person. It is the closest thing to being in the same room. You will need a microphone, headphones, and a camera. An audio interface is ideal, though a USB microphone is also fine. If you do not have gear yet, I can advise you on what to get.
You will need a microphone, headphones, and a camera for FarPlay. An audio interface is ideal, though a USB microphone is also fine. If you don’t have this setup yet, that’s fine. Tell me when you send your recording and I’ll suggest affordable options before we start. The gear does not need to be expensive. A decent USB mic and any headphones you can sing in will do.
Real vocal development takes time. Technique changes don’t happen in one or two sessions. They take consistent, structured work over weeks and months. The 3-month minimum ensures we have enough time to build a solid foundation, track progress, and make meaningful changes. This is an ongoing program for singers who are serious about their development, not a quick fix.
Yes. You will need a quiet space where you can sing freely without worrying about disturbing others or being interrupted. It doesn’t need to be a professional studio. A bedroom, a home office, or any private space with reasonable quiet works. If you are unsure about your space, mention it when you send your recording and we can discuss.
The Pro Voice Analysis is asynchronous and self-paced: you submit a recording and I send back two videos, the analysis and a set of exercises tailored to your voice. It is great for a snapshot of where your voice stands. 1:1 coaching is live, structured, and ongoing with weekly sessions, real-time feedback, and a long-term development plan. Weekly coaching starts with the Analysis Plus, so the analysis is also your first step toward it.Learn more about the Pro Voice Analysis
Start with a Pro Voice Analysis Plus. Once you’ve had your analysis and your two live sessions, we both know whether weekly coaching is the right next step. If it is, and I have a weekly slot open, I’ll invite you and send the next steps: FarPlay setup, a weekly time, and gear advice if you need it. If it isn’t the right moment, the analysis and the two sessions are still yours, and you can book a live session with me any time.I select my weekly students from my Analysis Plus clients. Buying the Plus doesn’t guarantee an ongoing place beyond the two sessions it includes.

Your voice already has what it takes. You just need someone to help you hear it.

Imagine knowing exactly what to work on every week, hearing your voice change, and performing or recording with the confidence that comes from understanding your own instrument instead of hoping for the best. That’s what a real coaching relationship gives you. I’m ready to listen, if you’re ready to stop guessing.
